Don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of the recent explosion of the National Debt and all of the bailout/stimulus money (really just paper) that is being dumped into useless endeavors but the one area I feel is a worthwhile effort is health care.  Although, imperfect, as is all legislation, I think that what is being currently debated in congress is a decent compromise.  Is it cheap?  No.  Is it necessary?  Absolutely.  But in the end, it will probably be the emotional that will win out over the logical.  Already, Americans are being swayed to believe that this bill would be a giant leap toward Soviet style communism.  If that’s the case then I guess their are a lot of communist countries in NATO, an organization we consider vital to the security of the free world!  For once I wish we could be humbled as a nation and admit that we don’t have the best of everything and that maybe, just maybe, other countries have figured out a better solution to how to care for their citizenry.  I am not betting on it though.
